• A networking protocol that provides centralized authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) management for users who connect and use a network service. RADIUS was developed in 1991 by Livingston Enterprises as an access server authentication and accounting protocol. It was later brought into IEEE 802 and IETF standards.
