Language tag
- A standardized code that is used to identify human languages on the Internet. The tag structure has been documented by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in BCP 47; subtags are maintained by the IANA Language Subtag Registry. Each language tag is composed of one or more subtags separated by hyphens (“-”); each subtag consists of basic Latin letters or digits only. Examples include “en” for English, “es-419” for Latin American Spanish, and “rm-sursilv” for Romansh Sursilvan. IETF language tags were first defined in RFC 1766, published in 1995. ← Wikipedia ↑ is.gd/xmVMMj
