Microformat
- Predefined HTML markup created and used to provide descriptive and consistent metadata about elements, assigning them a particular meaning (such as contact information, geographic coordinates, events, products, recipes, etc.). Providing this semantic metadata allows software to process the information as referring to specific types of data rather than being arbitrary. Microformats emerged around 2005 and were predominantly designed for use by search engines as well as for web syndication. ← Wikipedia ↑ microformats.org
