- A decentralized approach to service composition in which the interactions between services are coordinated based on a global protocol or workflow, rather than being controlled by a single central entity. Each participant (i.e., service) knows the overall interaction pattern and executes its part independently, coordinating with others by following the shared protocol. This contrasts with service orchestration, where a central controller manages the interactions.
